Huawei Smart City. Let’s build a "smart" city with Huawei.
Huawei, one of the modern technology giants, has introduced its next major project - "smart city" - to facilitate the lives of people and ensure absolute security in different areas. How is it planned to happen? Let's see together.
According to Huawei, by 2025, there will be 27 megacities on the planet, with a population of 10 million people, which will cause serious issues and difficulties connected to transportation, health and public service. This means that the city should be ready for all that and have the right management to meet the needs of its inhabitants. While trying to ease this problem, the company has come up with an Intelligent Operation Center Solution (IOC), which will be the "brain" of the "smart" city. With this solution, Huawei will help to protect the city from different angles: physical, network, informational, and more. IOC includes the Cloud Data Center, the Integrated Communications Platform (ICP), the IoT platform, the large information center, and the GIS (geographic information system) cloud platform.
Yan Lida, the head of Huawei Enterprise Business Group, mentioned that the smart city is like a living organism controlled by a nervous system. This system is composed of a "brain" that is the management center and "nerves", which are network and sensors that collect information about the current state of the city. After that, the information is sent to the "brain", which analyzes it, makes smart decisions, sends feedback and immediately performs intelligent actions. This is a powerful link between the real and the digital worlds, which provides accurate management, promotes industry development and improves people's quality of life.
Huawei has also provided solutions for safe and high quality education by offering interactive audiences, digital rail solutions to contribute to the improvement and efficiency of transportation, etc. Nowadays, there are 120 cities in more than 40 countries around the world that have these opportunities.
Thanks to the "intelligent" technology, it will also be easier to control and prevent crime incidents, cybercrime, terrorist attacks and more. Together with this, there will be a boost in economic development as well, leading to a better and more comfortable life.
What steps are being taken to fully implement this project? To make the city "smart", Huawei has invested in artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for smart city management, facilitating transportation problems, and recognizing faces and locations. Artificial intelligence will contribute to public, financial, managerial security, health improvement, etc. In addition, the first IoT lighting system has been introduced to the industry, which helps to save on power consumption by more than 80%.
Everything in the "smart" city is reasonable, combined and rational. Here, there are not just net-fitted devices operating together, they need to be smart, so that the virtual world is reasonably reflected on the real world. This can be achieved through the "nervous system" of the "smart" city, which analyzes the information transmitted to it. To this end, Huawei company will spare no effort to introduce the world's leading technology, industrial and architectural solutions and innovative ideas combined with a number of successful co-operations.
A memorandum on the implementation of the "smart city" pilot project was signed by Deputy Minister of Transport of Armenia, Communication and Information Technologies Boris Demirkhanyan and the Vice President of "Huawei Technologies" (Russia) Cai Chu. Yerevan is on the way of becoming a "smart city". Well, expect new developments and improvements with Huawei as the successful cities of the future are today’s "smart" cities.
